It was a decade ago or so that I took my dad to the National Museum of the Pacific War.

It happened to be on Memorial Day, but that wasn’t planned.

It was a very emotional day — remembering all of those that served ‘till their last breath.

Finally, at the end of the day we were at an event where the speaker asked all Veterans to stand, and be honored.

As I stood, I saw the tears in my dads eyes.

I don’t think he was ever more proud of me than in that moment.

And I was never more proud to stand before him.
