I’m not sure when I got so particular about the temperature.

I’m sure it was sometime in the last 5 years or so, but I don’t recall exactly when or why.

I have always been opposed to the cold — I despise it so. But truth be told, I am not a fan of the hot either (that is probably a lie).

Historically, I have opened my door and just determined whether it was too hot or too cold to venture further. If I didn’t like the temperature, I retreated back into my house — which was kept at a perfect…

Well wait.

This is the crux of this story. Until just a few years ago I never really paid attention to what the temperature in my house was. “Comfortable” would have been my guess.

But as I’ve aged, or perhaps just because technology has advanced with smart thermostats and such, I’ve paid way too much attention to the exact temperature both inside and outside of my house.

I am a skinny guy with no body fat and I pay all the bills so I desire my home temperature to be between 75 and 78 degrees. If it falls below 70 I am starting a fire. Even in July.

I guess I was spoiled by living in Corpus Christi, San Diego, San Antonio, Pensacola, the Philippines, Hong Kong, San Fransisco, Hawaii, Melbourne, FL — warmth!

Yeah — I love the heat. It warms my heart and thins my blood.
