I sold a house on Social Media. It was surprisingly simple.
I had an extra house on my hands — and I know how arrogant that sounds — I never intended on owning two houses, but I was in a position to and it just happened.
One house too many for me.
So I decided to sell one (either one — I was not particular).
So I posted on Social Media that I had houses for sale. I got a lot of interest from people wanting to help me sell my houses, but to be honest, I didn’t think I needed help moving this real estate. People are buying houses.
In less than a week I had several buyers interested. Most were not local — they were out of state investors. One was local though.
Several weeks later I closed the sale on my larger home — I never showed it. I never met the buyer. The buyer never saw the home. Even though he is local.
Sure, I could have made more if I went a more traditional route, but after advertising the house, showing it, realtor fees, etc, I think I did pretty well. I made a 33.6% profit. And the sale was seamless. And 100% of the offer goes into my pocket.
We live in odd times. I never would have expected a real estate transaction like this.
